Realising the rights of persons with disabilities

Inclusive Education is a key component of the work of Callan Services throughout the 19 Inclusive Education Resource Centres (IERCs). IERCs are being given high level training in inclusive education to ensure that teachers are dealing with children with disabilities in an effective manner. Teachers in IERCs are trained to deliver each child with a disability an Individual Education Plan or sometime called an IEP. The IEP is learning plan of a particular child from the time the child is being identified to the time when the child finsihes his or her education.

Callan Studies National Institute and Callan Services National Unit help conduct training for teachers across the Network of Callan Services to ensure that each child with disability is given an education that helps him or her to be included in the society.
